So, to start I had to decide what material I would use to embroider the pattern onto. Since it's something that people will want to take with them from the fair, I thought it best that it not be something that needs to remain in a hoop, and something that would be relatively durable when carried around or handled by children. I choose the colour and decide how true to the original Chocolate Frog card and should, and wanted to, be. Royal purple seemed the best choice, then the threads are chosen from hundreds of hues and shades to best match the felt color.

First the large golden star-like design is embroidered, through a period of hours, as it will determine the space available for all other design components, then the inter design on that star, then it's time to decide, once again, how true to be to the original object. We chose to use the image of a chocolate frog (because it seemed more aesthetically pleasing).

Then outer emblems are added, a border of the french knot stitch, the ends are folded in and stitched down to achieve the desired geometrical shape and a backing is sewn on.
Then lastly the tassel is created and added. This process may take between 10-15 hours.
